Our Goal
Families will enhance their relationship with their children who have hearing
losses through communication skill building in the natural environment of
their home.
Our Service
- Sign language instructors provide strategies and activities to facilitate
communication and vocabulary building related to the family’s / child’s
interests and activities.
- Typically, a session is once per week for 8 weeks in the family home. (Days,
evenings or weekends.)
- Families determine the focus, pace, content and participants involved in
the service.
- Families choose their goals and priorities.
Who is Eligible?
Families who have a child with a sensorineural or permanent hearing loss who
is between birth and 6 years of age are eligible.
There are limited spaces available. Service is based on need and determined
annually. Preference is give to newly diagnosed children and their families.
What We Want You To Know…
- There is no cost to families for this service.
- We match instructors to families based on their communication goals.
