Groups are designed to build on the abilities of each child and family, to develop partnerships with families and to support families as they encourage their children’s development.
This is a registered group for hearing parents whose children have a hearing loss. Group is facilitated by Early Intervention staff. Topics are generated by parents based on their needs and interests. This group meets for 1½ hours one evening a month, from October until May. Child care is provided.
This is a registered playgroup which is offered to children birth- 3 ½ years of age that are registered in our Early Intervention Program. The playgroup is offered in three 8 week sessions, which meet once a week for 1 ½ hours; and is lead by a speech language pathologist and co-facilitated by Early Intervention staff. The group provides activities that promote and enhance the child’s overall development in an auditory and language enriched environment. An occupational therapist is available to the group for consultation on a part time basis. Parent participation is required.
