Community Resource Worker II
Full-time position in a Group Home setting
Clients: 4 individuals who are Deaf and developmentally delayed
Specific Skills: Assess the individuals’ relevant skill strengths and development needs, provide crisis intervention, resolve conflict situations, provided life skills training, assist in accessing community events and agencies as required, liaise with other community agencies engaged in the consumer’s life, liaise with guardian/parent, family, and Support home provider as identified or required, provide personal services support to persons with special needs, maintain records such as log notes, communication & medical notes, maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research, assist in evaluating the effectiveness of programs.
Security and Safety: Criminal record check and child welfare check.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, working under pressure, and physically demanding.
Work Location Information: Work in a residential setting and community at large.
Essential Skills: ASL experience is required (level 3 or higher preferred), reading text, document use, writing, oral or signing communication, working with others, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and finding information.
Qualifications
Education: Post-Secondary Education
Credentials: ASL experience is required (level 3 or higher preferred), Human Services related degree or Diploma, Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma, First Aid & CPR Certificate, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI or MANDT) Certificate, Cultural Awareness Training, and Medication Administration Certificate (First Aid and CPR are required to start employment, other courses or workshops could be provided after the candidate has been hired)
Experience: 3 years
Languages: American Sign Language experience is required (level 3 or higher preferred); the successful candidate must be able to read and write English.

Work Setting: Group home with 24/7 staffing model
