OVERVIEW
Connect Society’s Early Childhood Services Program requires a Full-time Teacher to support the learning of preschool children. Our children are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or CODA (Child of Deaf Adult). The program focuses on child development with an emphasis on language acquisition using a bilingual approach – English and American Sign Language. Programming is play-based and family-focused, requiring a high level of teamwork within an interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications
- University Degree in Education;
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate;
- American Sign Language (qualified candidates without American Sign Language will be considered with the expectation that they will gain competency);
- Related course work/experience in child development, special needs, g-tube feeding; Deafness;
- Current CPR and First Aid; and
- Clear Criminal Record and Intervention Checks
Hours
32 hours per week
Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Fridays 8:30-12:30
Compensation
- $32.00 – $37.00 per hour, based on education and experience;
